How It Works

The Request-a-Quote Add-On integrates seamlessly into your Turbify store, transforming your checkout process. Customers can request tailored quotes directly from their cart, and you'll receive the request in a dedicated Admin Quote Management Area. Here's how it works from start to finish:

1. Customers Add Products to Their Cart
   Shoppers browse your store and add one or more products (with specified quantities) to their shopping cart, just as they normally would.
2. Quote Request Option Appears
   On the shopping cart page, alongside the standard checkout buttons, a new "Request Quote" button is displayed.
3. Customer Submits Quote Request
   When a customer clicks "Request Quote", they are prompted to enter their name and email address. Upon submission, the cart's content, along with the customer's information, is sent to the store owner as a quote request.
4. Merchant Receives & Reviews Quote Requests
   
   • The store owner receives an email containing the cart details and a link to an Admin Quote Management Area.
   • The Admin Area lists all past quote requests, with new/unread requests marked for easy identification (similar to Turbify's order manager system).
   • Clicking on a customer's name lets you view their full quote history, sorted with the newest requests first.
5. You Customize the Quote
   
   • Once in the admin area, you can review the customer's request and make adjustments:
   • Update customer details (name and email) if needed.
   • Enter a custom quoted total price and, optionally, specify a valid until date to set an expiration for the offer.
6. Quote is Sent to the Customer
   
   • Once finalized, you click "Send Quote".
   • The customer receives an email containing:
     • The original total (before discount)
     • The quoted total (discounted price)
     • The valid until date (if specified)
     • A link to load the quote into the shopping cart
7. Customer Accepts & Completes the Purchase
   
   • When the customer clicks the link in the email, the quoted items automatically load into their shopping cart.
   • Any previously added items in the cart are replaced to ensure only the quoted items remain.
   • The cart cannot be edited by the customer to maintain the pricing quoted.
   • The cart displays the discounted total, with tax and shipping calculated at checkout.
   • The customer checks out and pays the quoted total.
8. Quote is Automatically Updated in the Admin Area
   
   • When the customer places an order, the Quote Manager updates automatically with:
     • The order number
     • The order date
   • This allows the merchant to track which quotes resulted in completed purchases.
